Hi,

Hey. You sacrificed yourself to identify the bug.
Now use the next of your game lives and apply the
kill shot. :))

The culprit collection has a new item.
"plasmoid" ... that sounds like Slime Blob From
Outer Space.

Now we only have to catch Richard's gremlin.
I wonder what's its name.
How about "Myxomycetes" or "Foggworm" ?
Windows has virus, we have slime demons.

The collision problem is a delicate bug.

Some drives can stand molestation, some don't.
Some Linux distros work for weeks with
hald-addon-storage activated before the first
coaster happens.

One can try to provoke it by performing
during the ongoing burn run:

  while date ; do sleep 3 && dd if=/dev/sr0 bs=2048 count=1 of=/dev/null ; done

(loop to be ended by pressing Ctrl+C)

We did notice the influence of firmware changes.
I could now imagine that the drives get less
stable by allowing some gesture which Windows
insists to perform.

What about DVD burn speed ?
Better now ?
(That is not a typical effect of collision.
We would need high frequency molestation for
that. Therefore my thought about mad ACPI.)

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
