Sure: edit /etc/debtags/sources.list and uncomment this line:
# Regularly updated, but unchecked, database on the web
#tags http://debtags.alioth.debian.org/tags/
then run "debtags update". Debtags will then use the new data, which
you will also find in /var/lib/debtags/package-tags
You can have more than one tag source enabled, and debtags will merge
data from all of them.
