Ah, OK.  I understand it now: the money given by Microsoft will be
forwarded to the Debian project.  Hence the "indirect" word in the title.

I think the paragraph could be clearer with something like:

<p><strong>Indirect Donation from Redmond to the Project.</strong> A particular advertisement
in the current issue of the German <a
href="http://www.linux-magazin.de/">Linux Magazin</a> magazine, created and
paid by a Redmond-based company, did not only cause a <a
href="http://www.linux-community.de/Neues/story?storyid=12819">discussion</a> (German only)
on whether a GNU/Linux oriented magazine should accept such an advertisement
but after the magazin donated the money to the Debian project, also a large
indirect <a href="http://www.linuxnewmedia.de/presse">donation</a> to
the Debian project.</p>

Or something similar (it seems quite heavy to have a single sentence here).
