Hallo Matthias,
At first I have to say that bugs.debian.org shows my report with one little modification. Testing email is shown with two dots in third line. Originally this line contains only ONE dot.
I've checked version from Debian testing, i.e. last version simply accesible for me. I found this problem in Debian stable and I want to check it in testing before upgrade, because I can live with this bug a few weeks (where few < 26). I can reproduce it with following configuration:

- Kerio Connect mail server at server side
   ^
   |
   v
- Fetchmail -> sendmail -> procmail installed on my workstation

You can see to attached files, part of /etc/fetchmailrc and related part of /var/log/mail.info

I look to mail info and I've found why it happens, see line 87,88:

fetchmail[21757]: SMTP< 354 Enter mail, end with "." on a line by itself.
fetchmail[21757]: message ***@mail.***.cz:1604 was not the expected length (1753 actual != 2327 expected).

It seems that message is cutted somewhere between fetchmail and sendmail. Messages sent from MS Outlook (as a client, I do not talk about MS Outlook server) really can contain dot as first character of line, see attached source from out mailserver. Yes, I understand, it can be rare case. Now I understand that my test with mpop was incorrect because I receive message as user and forward it directly to fetchmail, i.e. I didn't activate sendmail.

As a last step I try to use another server with the same message. I've found a difference in mail.info: line saying that message was not the expected length is missing and message is delivered with original length!
Can I save fetched message as is to file? It is a bit strange, because both servers says that message contains line with just dot in its body, when I look to source of message, but they must differ because they are delivered differently.

Regards,
  Pavel
