Hi Gabriele,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

It's interesting that gnash plays all YouTube
videos for you.

I followed your step by step instructions, more or
less exactly.

The good news?

RMS's Free Software Song played.

The bad news?

Right clicking on the video popped open a menu that
said it was in HTML5.

It's nice to be able to watch HTML5, but I found a
video (of world renowned sociologist, Al Bundy)
that YouTube still served as flash at

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXfN7iNbbho

The first video frame and progress bar were still
eventually rendered, but, like before, left
clicking on the play arrow only causes the
progress bar to creep rightward, without playing
the video.

Right clicking on the video pops open a gnash
menu.

If you happen to have the time, and are so
inclined, I'd be interested in

1.) what happens when you try to play

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXfN7iNbbho

2.) and whether you'd like the big log file now.

Thanks,
Kingsley
