Here you probably need to keep track of what language uses what
system. This is something we failed to do, mostly because Tobias and
myself are involved in too many other things...:-)

I think it would be OK to keep track of this in a file hosted in
iso-codes SVN, which would be the most convenient way to guarantee
that someone else can take that task over.

It should probably be a matrix that says for each language and each
file in the various domains, if that file is maintained in the TP or
in upstream SVN.

Thanks a lot for stepping up and volunteering to help. As Tobias
pointed, there should be no grief between the TP and the iso-codes
maintainers. At some point, we realized that we were having hard times
converging towards a system that guarantees both to fulfill their
goals.

It might be easier with you volunteering and I really thank you again
for this, I think in name of the iso-codes maintainers.

We are perfectly aware that the development of iso-codes should not be
Debian-centered. Actually it just happens that this software
originated in Debian and the main maintainers are Debian developers
with Debian goals as first goals. Also, of course, be cause we think
that Debian is what serves Free Software the best but that's another
story..:)

I think that most translators will wish sticking up with the Debian
way to update their translation...essentially because moist of them
are folks *we* bringed in to iso-codes translations after we got the
need to translate ISO-3166 for our installer.

That's why I bringed Debian folks into ISO-3166 translation and that's
why the majority os fine with the Debian way to update translation
(even if it's seen as complicated and clumsy...:-)).

But, again, having you as proxy is the best that could happen here and
I am very happy to see that we will be able to benefit from the
combined energy of both teams.
