Please just make a separate folder for them, like bugfixes or pending or
whatever.

The problem of reconstructing the repository I basically got solved some
time ago, it's not the one that is holding me back. The bigger problem
is that there is a lot of in-progress mixed up work in svn which has to
be put in branches, properly reviewed and implemented (or put off until
later, but not completely discarded).

Also the whole package requires a significant overhaul since many, many,
many things have changed in 4.7.5.+ and even more changes are coming.

I don't mind you making an initial import of apt-get source mc, pushing
it to github or Debian git host and building on top of this, since these
patches can be re-applied later on top of the "official" package
repository when it's done.

Fine with me, I'm not even a DD after all =)

The patch from this bug is in git @ m-c.o / branch 4.7.0-stable, in what
concerns the desktop file, please have a look here first:

https://midnight-commander.org/ticket/2314

I did some artwork back then, and PLD has a ready-to use desktop file,
but the point really is that this should be carefully reviewed,
integrated in the makefiles and submitted as a patch upstream, so that
all distributions would benefit at once.

As I said I can't do it myself now, but if you prepare a patch I can
solicit a review and try to push it upstream. In the mean time I don't
mind a preliminary version being included into the Debian package.

Oh well, just remember that the users are hard to please bastards :-)

  * Please post a link to your git thing so that I can have a look
before upload.

Ok, got to go now. Hope it helps.
