Hmmm..

If the extension is not stored in a SVN I refused it in the past, because its 
practically impossible to update it automatically and, with many extensions, 
manual updates are simply not an option.

What I have been thinking for quite some time is to prepare a script that 
would create a package with a given extension so that the user can create its 
own extension packages...

Any help with this would b greatly appreciated, my time is somewhat limited 
these days :)
