If upstream is removing it, we need to remove it at one point or the
other. We cannot sustain to support 5.3 indefinitely. The only question is
when we stop to support it.

Stuff that hasn't yet migrated away by now is only going to migrate away
when forced to. Waiting a bit longer isn't going to solve these cases.
