Package: vim
Version: 1:6.2-364+1
Severity: normal

In /usr/share/vim/vim62/ftplugin/python.vim it erroneously says:

" Python always uses a 'tabstop' of 8.
setlocal ts=8

Which is nonsense. Leave it up to the user to decide what tabstop they
want.

since python assumes that tabs are the same as 8 spaces, it's quite
sensible to enforce it in the python syntax file.

if you REALLY want ts to be 4, you can still override it with :

  au FileType python set ts=3D4

but use it at your own risk.
